BRANA
Maison BRANA is a family story. Passionate about Basque wines, Pierre Etienne BRANA created it in 1897. Since then, four generations have succeeded one another in the trade and production of fine wines and spirits. Today, Martine and Jean are contributing their stone to the BRANA building.
BRANA ESTATE
Domaine BRANA is a story of terroir and experience. The vineyard is located in the communes of Ispoure and Bussunaritz, in the heart of the Irouleguy appellation of origin. The terroirs of Ispoure are micaceous sandstone terroirs, those of Bussunaritz are clay-limestone terroirs.
BRANA IROULEGUY ESTATE
The approach of Domaine BRANA was to reconnect with the tradition of Irouleguy by cultivating indigenous grape varieties grown mainly on terraces.
BRANA IROULEGUY
To obtain high-quality Irouleguy wines, special attention is paid to the vineyard while respecting the environment. This is followed by meticulous work on vinification and maturing. The approach of Domaine BRANA is to produce timeless wines that reflect a place, a terroir, and a thousand-year-old plant heritage. BRANA Irouleguy wines are natural, frank, and straightforward.
BRANA PEAR
A reference in the Basque Country, the Williams pear brandy BRANA is considered one of the best in the world. Its Aromatic, very fine, crystalline, marked Wiliam is the Brana signature. In the mouth this BRANA pear brandy has a nervous attack that develops giving the impression of biting into the fruit, intense and very elegant. The finish of the BRANA pear is creamy, fine and long.
BRANA WATER OF LIFE
Maison BRANA is the fruit of passion and know-how in heritage, tradition and innovation are the key words in distillery. Finding the quintessence of the fruit requires a rigorous selection of the best products. The fruits are patiently distilled in red copper stills to extract the natural aromas. To develop quality spirits and liqueurs, the search for perfection is the only secret. Only the passage of knowledge perpetuated from generation to generation creates the reputation of BRANA spirits.
GRAPE MARC BRAND
BRANA grape marc brandy is characterized by a great aromatic power, very fruity and evolving hard peppery notes. On the nose we smell the very ripe grape marc as well as notes of almond and candied fruit. On the palate this very fruity aromatic power for a marc, evolves on spices (pepper). Dry at the start, finishing very fat, unctuous, long in the mouth for an intense, complex and long finish.
WILLIAMS PEAR BRAND
The very famous Poire Brana, which could have inspired the expression "keep a pear for thirst". Etienne Brana created his distillery in 1974 with a single idea in mind: to produce very high-quality spirits. A perfectionist and meticulous, he set up a distillery, a model of its kind, which would allow him to patiently distill, in a repasse, in red copper stills, the William pears rigorously selected to extract the quintessence of the fruit. The distillery only uses pears from the surrounding orchards. Harvested by hand, they are rigorously selected before being put into fermentation.
BRANA GIN
Fans of Gin Fizz and other gin and tonics, discover the fruitiness and spiciness of a gin and tonica made with BRANA Espelette pepper gin and tonic!
BRANA has chosen to innovate by creating a Gin with Piment de mon Pays Basque. Once macerated, the ingredients making up the recipe are distilled in small batches in a copper still. At the exit of the still, the Gin obtained is aged in small stainless steel vats in order to monitor the evolution of the esters and to proceed with bottling at the appropriate time.
On the nose we feel intense, fresh aromatic notes, with notes that are both fruity and spicy. On the palate we find the aromatic reflection of the nose where the freshness brought by the selection of plants combines with the strength of the spices. Their combination gives a Gin: ample, complex, round, both tonic and fresh, with a harmonious and discreetly spicy finish.
