THE STORY BEHIND THIS WINE:
8A Mirapies is Adriana's personal commitment to this wine, which comes from three different plots with three different varieties, but with one common characteristic: the soil where the vines originate is a beautiful stony soil. This wine is a selection of grapes based on the type of soil they come from. "Rua Mirapies" is a street in Olite, our home, and refers to how this wine was born: by looking at the terroir.
THE WINE:
8A Mirapies is a wine characterized by its minerality and great fruity character. This wine is aged in 225-liter French and American oak barrels for a total of 14 months, resulting in a fresh and fruity red wine with well-integrated wood.
An ideal wine for fans of modern and innovative wine. Made from 3 varieties (Tempranillo, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon) from 3 different plots that share the same stony, calcareous soil. If you like crianzas with a little more barrel aging and a very round palate resulting from the union of grapes in this poor, stony land, this is your wine!
Tasting notes for 8A Mira Pies
Color
Ruby red, with a beautiful intensity.
Nose
Ripe fruit, blackberries, and cherries, with floral notes and liquorice. The minerality comes from the stony soil.
Palate
We find the same flavors as on the nose. An interesting structure, silky tannins, and a very fruity, frank attack. This is a powerful wine that we recommend pairing with a meal.
Food pairing
Grilled or roasted meats, stews, aged cheeses.
Serving
Serve between 16 and 18°C.
Cellaring
Ready to drink or keep for over 10 years.
