THE STORY BEHIND THIS WINE:
This wine is a tribute to our grandfather, Adriano Ochoa, the fourth generation of the family. Adriano had many friends and looked after them. In his cellar, there was always a wine for them, the "special" one. Through wine, he created moments like this one: the 1938 Photo with his friends from Olite, our home. This is our special wine, dedicated to friends, the team, and the family. Because the important moments in life are shared with them, and with a good wine, they become even greater.
THE WINE:
8A La Foto de 1938 is a fresh, fruity, and elegant red wine. It is aged for 9 months in used American and French oak barrels. The aromas of ripe and balanced fruit blend with the freshness of this wine. A wine to be enjoyed among friends, to savor the present moment. It is like a friendly companion: kind, straightforward, and positive. It is ideal for pairing with tapas and good times.

TERROIR
The vines used to make OCHOA 8A LA FOTO 1938 are grown in different plots depending on each grape variety. Tempranillo: Finca Santa Cruz. Graciano: Finca La Pedrera. Merlot: Finca La Milla. Garnacha: Finca El Bosque.
LOCATION
Finca El Bosque (Traibuenas): 38.1 hectares of Moscatel de Grano Menudo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Garnacha. The clay-limestone soil and southern orientation ensure good sun exposure, which reduces the need for vineyard treatments and encourages integrated, environmentally friendly viticulture. The low amount of organic matter in this soil means that yields are low.
Finca La Milla: This part of the estate covers 45 hectares with the cultivation of Moscatel, Viura, Chardonnay, and Merlot grapes, as well as olive trees. The clay-limestone soil is ideal for white grapes and for the red Merlot variety, which adapts wonderfully to the rockier areas, providing minerality.
Finca Santa Cruz: 55 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, and olive trees. Deep, well-draining clay-limestone soil with low yields.
Finca La Pedrera: 5.5 hectares of Graciano. Very stony, clay-limestone soil with slight slopes, ideal for this particular and difficult-to-grow variety that allows us to produce rustic and elegant wines.
